....just like that. There are not that many Ric basses in Nova Scotia. The only other fireglow bass that I am aware of in the province is in the Wolfville area and is a bit of a beater. After that it's you and me.I have seen a number of jetglows and mapleglows.A friend has an autumglow fretless 4002 with checkerboard binding. That is a rare one- he ordered it new way back when.
congrats John, I would love to see your new bass.Post pics.....Bring her down to Bearly's for the jam tonight.

The idea of being skittish gigging with a vintage instrument is close to my heart. That's why I recently got a 2004 Laredo (I know...not a 4003). Before that I used my 1975 4001 regularly...
But using a 30 year old guitar (that's still in reasonable condition) makes me worry. Not that the axe plays poorly...just spilled drinks, people lusting after it...
BTW, the new Laredo is a great instrument, as is my 2001 650 Dakota. So my vote is "YES" if the question is "Do you think RIC is making fine isntruments now?"

Just wanted to say that I am loving my new (to me) ric... looks, sounds and feels beautiful. The neck feels at home in my hands... perfect width and thickness... and I love all of the tones that I can dial up on the fly with the pickup switch.
My beloved jazz bass will be taking a backup role, at least for a while.
