Right now I'm listening to the Atlanta Rhythm Section version of "Spooky", and Paul Goddards mapleglo 4001 is sounding FINE. That is enough to show me that you can't copy that sound. Believe me I've tried. It is unmistakable, and if you are playing a copy, it might LOOK like a Rickenbacker but it is lacking that all important sound. Thats why I bought a Rickenbacker bass. In my opinion, nothing else sounds as good.

But hey, that's just me.

Yeah Goddard had a great sound and was a great player, ever hear Champagne Jam? He does a solo in it.
Rory I re-read your reason which I had already read once and I say if you want one bad enough you'll figure out how to get one. Why play fake junk?

yeah, Bob. Have you ever heard "Another Mans Woman"? He has a 3 or 4 minute solo in it on the live album (ARS:Are You Ready?) Simply incredible. I remember sitting in awe of him at concerts in the late '70's/early '80's.

Och, no worries mate. It may take slightly longer than I thought though-my wife reminded me about the £19k I owe in student loans. Good old higher education system!!
