Thanks....and "no" I did not ding it on purpose. I just figured for what I wanted to do flames were my only option and I just tinkered with different ideas in front of the TV last night until I came up with something I was happy with. It took me about three hours to get what I wanted and mask everything off. My biggest debate was if I should incorporate the pickguard in the paint scheme or leave it plain black. We'll see how it turns out.

Just an update. I didn't get as far as I wanted to yesterday due to it being cool outside and I also had some other projects to work on.
Here are a few pics of my initial unmasking. The paint was still a little soft so I promptly placed a nice size fingerprint over where the chip was that started all of this......DOH!!!! It's actually no big deal since I have to clean up some of the lines and do some touch-up anyway. I expected to have a few issues with cleanup of the tapelines and some bleed from under the tape edges where the stripes overlapped. Overall I am happy with the layout. I may "move" the crossing flames just behind the bridge p/u since it will be mostly covered by the trim piece. I think it is a nice touch so I'd like it a little revealed. Once it is cleared it should be just what I wanted. I may not be able to do much over the next few days since it is supposed to be cool and rainy but that will give me plenty of time for the detail work before clearcoat......I certainly don't want to rush it now.
Let me know what you think....good or bad
