Converted in 3 minutes / I've got a new amp.

I was selling my Vox Pathfinder 15R to this younger guy that goes to school with my brother. He plays a Gibson SG Special and didn't have an amp so I sold him mine while I was searching for a new amp for myself.
After testing out the amp I had mine plugged in my new AD60VTX and I told him if he wanted to try out my 370 since he'd never played a Rickenbacker before.
He played for 3 minutes before he had to leave and the next day he told me he was still thinking about my guitar! He was interested in getting a Casino but now he wants a Ric.

I love it when that happens, especially since I'm probably one of the only people to own a Rickenbacker here in Moncton.

So anyways my amp, woah, such nice tones. I really like the fact that I can set it to any of the amps it models, that is by far the most amazing thing it does. The effects are very neat to play around with.
I don't have any pedals and now I won't need to buy any.
I'm not big on effects but I get a kick out of playing around with them.

Just a question for anyone who knows... From what I understand in the manual this amp does have a tube in it (makes sens since it doesn't start up right ahead when I turn it on). Now, since this is my first tube amp, how do I know when I have to change that tube and how do I do that?


I've just got a cyst removed from my left hand, so I can't play my guitar for at least a week!!!
Ah well I still have all of next week off since I just finished university and my job doesn't start until the 16th.

Patrick, that tube (a 12AX7 pentode, running in double triode mode ifmemory serves me correctly), runs on only 1 volt instead of the normal 5, so it should last a whole long time. The heaters don't even glow at 1 volt. I think you're looking at 3-5 years.

You'll know when it goes--the amp will not give out any sound. Replacing it is a snap, and the tubes themselves are very common and less than $10.00, unless you go boutique.

BTW, gold-pin tubes are a ripoff.
