The end shot makes it look like it has a maple fretboard.

I still want the mirror pickguard....

I kinda think I like it. You sure wont have the classic "bridge lifting" problem with that baby.

Dave designed it to not have that problem. Hence the "butresses" on the sides for extra strength.

I like the bridge a lot. I've done two shows with it now and it's treating me right. It is so noticeably heavier though! I can feel it when I've got a case in each hand loading in/out. It really does change the balance of the instrument, but I'm not saying that's all bad. And yes, it's nice to see a bridge sitting flat against the body.
The mirror came from WD. It's clear plexi with the mirror finish underneath. At first I was disappointed that they only do beveled edges, but it actually looks cool with this setup. To me anyway...

I like the setup. I'm not a fan of one pickup basses (P-Bass, Stringray... not enough tone options) but that actually looks really nice. I like the two tone knobs for the EMG. Since you play over the "sweet spot" anyway the entire mirrior shows off. I would get the mirrior tinted to a certian color like Steve Harris' P-Bass.

It would be cool if they would make a replacement bridge 8-string bridge for the 4003S/8 - it might offset the extra weight from the bigger headstock!

Ya, but if you comb your hair right, no one can see it.
