Replacing hi-gain with a horseshoe

Post by pwolz »

Mark,
Is it possible to replace a stock 4001 bridge pickup with a vintage "Horseshoe" ? If I have this mod done, should I also remove the .0047 cap?

Yes , and sorry it took me so long to reply , I am trying to finish two guitars ;

1 a combo 800 type guitar and
2 - a rebuild on a butchered 1964 ES 335

Both will be done this week ...and I have been swamped with phone calls the last week and visits , so work /production slowed.

This is a straight ahead replacement , just swap away .
I hat eth e.0047 cap , but if you want to try it , do it .I solder them inside the guitar (both ends to the back of a pot so if the owner wants it ... it is there to reinstall .
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
