Yes Paul, I do consider myself lucky. This is nicest playing Rick I've ever played, and I've been playing it live for almost all of the 28 years I've owned it. Actually, I think it owns me. I'll get a picture up this evening if anyones interested.

My 96' 4003 also had writing under the pickups... though at the time I didn't make note of what was written... a signature and Date I think.

The tradition continues

Mark that doesn't look like the writing on my old[77] 4001 it said maria under the front pickup and 4001 in the control cavity it was written in marker[or grease pencil],yours looks as though the previous owner did it with a pen.

Yeah thanks.

That makes sense, Kenneth, except there was no other owner. I opened the box, pulled out the case ( which was wrapped in plastic ), and there she was. 28 years ago. The sn says July '75, so it must've sat around the factory for awhile.

Another thing off topic a bit, the case is even left handed. When you open it, the neck is on the right! Rickenbacker Rules!!!

I bet Leo didn't do that!

Actually, he did. As far back as 1956 the lefty guitars and basses had left handed cases. From 1954 to 1955 they had 'center pocket' cases that fit right or left handed instruments.

My lefty '53 Tele was originally sold with an right-handed case that it went in upside down!

While you have the "hood" open, hide your name in there somewhere. If you don't want to graffiti on the body itself, put it on a piece of paper and wedge it in somewhere. It could prove the instrument is yours if it's stolen and then turns up somewhere.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
