4003S/5 missed?

Post by prague »

So, I noticed that this auction for a http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7318532444&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1]4003S/5 MG[/url] wasn't even mentioned on this forum.

I am curious why not? I have an idea, but I'm wondering why, since I see a lot of ebay notifications.

Good score! That one looks great....I hope you have better luck with the spacing than I did when I had one. I still kind of regret selling it for some reason though.

Why no post about it at the start of the auction?

I'm personally not an ebay player. More power to the rest of ya, though.

Congratulations, Ted. Sweet bass!! I have one mapleglo 4003 - a '00 - and it is perhaps the best sounding of my Ric's... and, for some reason, the chicks seem to Dig mapleglo more... go figure.... And a 5-er is special, too. Nice bass!

"Why no post about it at the start of the auction?"

If I see something on auction that I am interested in (Rics) I pray that it doesn't get posted here for the rest of the "sharks" to see. I lucked upon my 4003s8 right after it was posted for sale on the "Dudepit" and within minutes (before I even received an email from the seller that he accepted my offer to buy it) it was posted twice on this site.I was just a little nervous Image.......

Nice catch, Ted! I can attest to the close string spacing; it will take a little bit of technique adjustment to play, but they feel quite nice. I'm looking into getting new saddles to spread the spacing a little.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

Ted ... I have some replacement saddles for that bass ... with those you can widen the spacing from 2 1/16" to 2 1/4" ... that will make it easier to play ...

Speaking of which, jeff, I want to get a set of those from you. Just let me know where to send the check.

Congrats, Ted! For some reason I thought you already had a Rick 5-string in your collection.
Play what you love, love what you play!
