I know where Scunthorpe is, Birmingham too, but I've never heard of London! Where is it?

Keith, at one point or another, I've been to just about every corner of the U.K. and simply amused by certain town names. Ottery St. Mary is another one of those for me. I spent most of my summer vacation once in The Scillies before I learned how it REALLY was pronounced!
We used to have a bank account with Barclays, at their Ramsbottom branch- that was a point of much amusement.
The one time I met Graham, I was (unknowingly) in L. Ron Hubbard's back yard in East Grinstead.
Ricky Gervais put Slough on the map for me.
Actually, decades ago we sponsored U.K. "Confluences" in London, Nottingham, and Edinburgh, essentially chosen for accessibility from any populous region of the U.K., except perhaps Belfast. They were fun but quite a lot of work for us.

You know Devon very well John. I drove through Ottery St Mary last night, on my way to my gig at Seaton.
On the Devon/Cornwall border, between Tavistock & Okehampton is a village called Crapton. Can't help but raise a smile....when you get to Okehampton, there is another village called Lifton Down. Appeals to me anyway!

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Nottingham might be the best overall venue - resonably central. Mind you, takes me as long to drive the 35 miles to nottingham as it does to get to London by train ie 2hrs. On the subject of unusual place names, there is a village just across the county called Mavis Enderby. And one called Boothby Grafoe. And Norton Disney.
Let's try to draw some strings together? how many will actually come to:
London: or
Midlands (brum, n'ham, scun)
my pref is for nottingham out of those.

If Nottingham is chosen who lives near enough to sus out a venue? Are we looking for a pub/hotel with a large concert room that we can use/hire? Some of us may need to stop overnight either Saturday or Sunday (or both).
When are we thinking of doing it, when can YOU make it? When can't YOU make it? Do we need to elect someone to co-ordinate everything?
All these questions, my head is spinning now!

How does everyone else feel about 24th?
"If Nottingham is chosen who lives near enough to sus out a venue? Are we looking for a pub/hotel with a large concert room that we can use/hire? Some of us may need to stop overnight either Saturday or Sunday (or both). "
If Nottingham is the venue I could make some enquiries. Need to have rough numbers of course and some idea of whether people want to just meet greet and show/tell, or actually want a chance to play - hopefully the latter!
How many are up for Sunday 24th in Nottingham?
