The website I listed shows your number as well, as an "old product code". Maybe change in distribution?

I gather then that there are two different B & D books, the one on the guitars like I have and another on basses?

I think the 'Bass Book' is not specific to Rickenbacker, Jeff. AFAIK there are only two books dedicated to Ricks - the Smith one and the B & D.

I have "The Bass Book" by Tony Bacon & Brian Moorehouse. Paul Day's 64 4001S is on page 2, the copyright page. It is a different photograph than the one posted above, and this book still only goes to page 108. What book is Ilan refering to that has that bass on pages 164-5?

Ilan?

BTW, the ISBN number for "The Bass Book" is 0-87930-368-9.

My copy of "The Rickenbacker Book" has the 'old' ISBN number also, and a Hal Leonard sticker on the back. At the time, I couldn't find a new copy anywhere, so bought it used through half.com.

Glad to see it is still in print!

I think the book Ilan is referring to is "The Ultimate Guitar Book", by Tony Bacon. There is a Rickenbacker bass spread on pages 164-165. Rickenbacker guitars are featured on pages 148-149. The ISBN is 0-375-70090-0, published in 1997, and still available new.

Thanks David, yes, that's the one, "The Ultimate Guitar Book" from 1991. Tony Bacon appears as the author on the cover, but inside it's "by Tony Bacon & Paul Day". Sorry I wasn't more specific in my previous post.
