Bob, mine is a '74...JG 4001FL, Ser. No. NE 2969. There, I hope I got that all right...as I've said on some earlier thread, before I found this forum I thought my Ricks were 'Black'...

I started dreaming along with Scott and saw a Rick doubleneck, fretted and fretless basses...then I pinched myself and remembered how much that 4080 weighs...

That's when the million dollar idea hit me...(ok, keep this under your hat, don't want the whole world to know)...

"Retractable Frets" ...(Shh, 'nuff said)...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

I'm currently working on a custom Ricky double-neck. The upper neck will be a 5-string bass and the lower will be a 6-string guitar with a 26 1/2" scale. There are a lot of modifications to be done to the source instruments but I plan to hopefully end up with something very unique which will deal with some of the ergonomic drawbacks of the 4080 and it's kind.
