Susanna Hoffs and her 350SH

Post by anonymous »

I've been listening more and more to Susanna's guitar work of the past 20 years and was wondering how someone who owns one of her limited edition likes it? I definitely can tell that the folks who own a 350SH tend to hold on to them more so than say a 370RM or a 660TP, so this series has always been a bit of a mystery to me.

If someone who's owned/played one of these could write a recap of your thoughts on tone, versatility etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

Nice to see the "R" word mentioned in this article in today's (yesterday's, by now?) Guardian on the Bangles' reunion ...

"Their new, fourth album, Doll Revolution, has the Rickenbacker shimmer and sun-kissed harmonies of old and keeps at bay the spectre of the 1980s revival circuit."

(No mention of the signature model, though.)

Susanna does play her signature model quite a bit. I've seen her on various things on TV within the past year or two, and she's usually playing her 350SH.

If memory serves me correctly, at the end of the second Austin Powers movie, "The Spy Who Shagged Me", Susanna can be seen 'playing' her 350SH in the musical number (the name of which I don't recall - it might have been something like "The BBC").

Yes .. the band listed in the Austin Powers' credit roll is "Ming Tea", featuring Susanna on her Rick in go-go boots. Somewhere on the net I read that they actually played the LA club scene, though I am a bit suspicious of this info... anyone know for sure? That would have been a fun show if they really did.

The Wondermints are one more terrific band.

I saw them on tour with Brian Wilson not too long ago, and they were amazing.
