Have fun at the confluence, everybody. I would venture to guess that those of us who aren't going wish we were!

why would we have to wait till the Confluence is over to see pics? Isn't there some creative attendee who could bring a laptop and post periodic updates and pix live? That way we can all feel like we were there and even ask a question or two!

Just packed up the basses for the flight. VERY nervous about it. What I did was take heavy foam and folded it around the headstock, small foam pices to secure the body and a layer of bubble over the entire bass. Nothing moves inside that case.

It's a Gator double bass hard shell. I think I should be all right unless the case splits open.

Marc-

Use luggage straps that have buckles to secure the case, that way if the clamps open the case stays shut.

Just tape the strap to the hinge so that the TSA morons don't forget to re-strap it.
Buy it before someone else does

I can attest that Marc's face was about as green as his seagreen signature bass when we were talking about this horrible situation.....

VERY glad that all turned out well and the basses arrived INTACT at the confluence!!

This was the first time I've seen the blueboy and the monty brown finishes in person...and I have to say I've definitely changed my tune about the monty brown!! Paul brought his monty brown 4003 "signature edition" and after seeing this beautiful bass, I am now officially in the hunt for one... :-)
