I just placed an order!

Post by corey »

Well, I said I was going to have to wait a while to order my Ric 12 due to a lack of funds, but I didn't count on my dad saying "Hey, order that there twanger and it's your birthday present."

Amazing!

So, thanks to one of the few Rickenbacker dealers in Canada - http://www.murchmusic.com - I've got an order placed for a 360/12 VP Fireglo (the finish choice is based on my Dad's begging for me to get that instead of Jetglo or another MaplegloImage

What a great day!

Good luck with the new axe! How long is the wait?

I just got back confirmation that Ric is quoting 6 months on the order (from today, that's Aug. 25), but Glenn from Murch expects it to be a little faster than that. In any event, my summer will be very jangly at some pointImage

Just to keep everybody updated - I'm getting the 6 saddle bridge replaced with a 12 saddle when it's shipped to my dealer.

Much thanks to those who contributed to the old threads explaining the differences between the two types of bridges. It helped me make a well-educated decision.

I hope your bridge is in the right place . . .

I hope so too.

I have great confidence in the guys I deal with in Cambridge being able to fix/set up the guitar so it's ready to shimmer when I get it. I've also got an ace up the sleeve in the expertise of Mr. Mark Arnquist should the bridge turn out to be a problem.

My 360/6 I got from the same place was set up to perfection and I was playing along to Peter Buck straight from the case on the morning the UPS guy delivered it.

Happy Birthday, Corey. A Fireglo Rick sounds like a great present.

I got a message today that my 360/12 FG just arrived from California! I think my dealer still has to install the 12 saddle bridge, but at this rate, I should probably have the guitar by the end of next week!

Congratulations Corey, I ordered a 730L FG two weeks ago (my fourth lefty RIC). Hope to have it in time for my October birthday.

Thanks!

You'll have to let me know what you think of the Ric accoustic. I'm looking at the Shasta as my next Ric.

You've got some great guitars. Very nice pictures.

R.C.,

Did you opt for the transducer? It'd be nice to hear from someone who has had the opportunity to "plug-in" a RIC acoustic...

Andrew: No I didn't. I figure I'd mike it if the need ever came up.

Whenever possible, miking is always the best choice for amplifying an acoustic guitar.
