Confluence Report

Post by rickfan60 »

Well I forgot my USB cable for my digital camera >****<so>double ****< and we are waiting for them to be delivered. The good news is that the hotel offers free Internet access so I can post this. Tonight we gathered all of our basses for a group picture and Paul Boyer did excellent portraits of all of them. We have 4 4005's here - pretty awesome. I brought all of my playable Ricks (13) which was nuts but so be it. We are hoping to provide some pics for Chicks with Ricks.....

Damn, that got screwed up. I meant to say that Marc Seligman's basses were lost by the airline and we are waiting for them to be delivered but it did not come out that way. Sorry!!!

Holly S! The airline lost Marc’s basses! I guess at the end of the day that’s why I’m in NJ this weekend and not OH. Couldn’t get a guarantee from Continental about a gig bag carryon!

Marc, I hope all turns out well for you! We’ll all cross our fingers!

Guys have fun out there, be safe and post plenty of PICS

Cheers!

Congratulations on the Confluence goes out to all those who were able to make it.

I really appreicate your efforts in spreading the word of Rickenbacker and I wait with much anticipation to hear your comments about the event.

I also can hardly wait to see some photos, and of the people too!

Let the growlin' begin.

Well, if they can't find my basses, I'll just select a couple of these...

I can't fret about the missing basses. It's just not going to help matters. Part of the problem was that I should have listened to Jared, but just didn't make getting luggage straps a priority. Next, was I could have taken them to the gate and observed them putting it on the plane, but gave it to security instead(hey, I didn't know they guy has a side gig in an R&B group<g>)

Appearently when Delta moves stuff outta JFK this is a common problem and they claim most of the time it shows up within 24 hours. One of the issues is that there's only one non-stop to Columbus each day and I may have to wait until that flight, if in fact the basses still exist.

The ironic thing is, if someone walked out of the airport with them, you couldn't find two more unique Rics which can easily be identified by all of us.

I just wanted to add that other than my personal distress, this confluence is exactly what I had imagined.

A bunch of Ric players getter together with their basses, meeting each other, and getting the opportunity to hold and play some of these tremendous instruments which we've heard so much about.
