Ok, here I go:
Favorites: Hey Jude
A day in the life
The long and winding road
I saw her standing there
Something
Hey Bulldog ( that's 5 in US currency!!!)
Least fav: Revolution #9
You know my name( look up me number)
Love me do
All together now
Within you, without you

Nowhere man please listen, you don't know what you're missing...
I can't possibly pick a top 5 but
'Mr. Moonlight' was always one of my favorites. I always thought Lennon ripped that song right from his rock n roll soul, especially the beginning solo vocal: Mr. Moonlight.
'This Boy' was another favorite. Love the whole 'Meet The Beatles LP'. "
Not a Second Time"
Revolution #9 was always boring for me and I've only recently played it all the way through.
I can say that the white album is my least favorite though because it is so uneven. (I still like it though, obviously)
'Good Night' was also very depressing sounding to me.
I was having some dental work done many years ago when "I Feel Fine" came on the PA (dentist office music!). The nitrous oxide completely transformed that song into something magical. I've always loved that song since then!
I've had the same experience, John. Except it was a number of different songs, on a number of different occasions, none at the dentist's office.
And for the top 5...tough
Rain
Nowhere Man
Dear Prudence
Day Tripper
Help
No particular order.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Music is too important to be left to professionals.
Nowhere Man
She Said, She Said
I Feel Fine
And Your Bird Can Sing
She's A Woman
But like many here, it's very difficult to narrow it to just five.
One of my least favorites is Something - it doesn't really work for me, although it's not a "bad" song.
To me, the Beatles did not do a truly bad song à la the Hollies' Water On The Brain (which, I think, was the flip side of Dear Eloise ... or was it King Midas In Reverse ...).
It is better, of course, to know useless things than to know nothing. - Seneca
Till There Was You
Yes It Is
Rain
Dear Prudence
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I think it's quite amazing that this group's body of work is ever evolving. It seems like when one song loses it's luster and you think you may have had enough of it for awhile...you hear it one day , and think to yourself...man what a great song!
