Sam Cooke

Post by 8mileshigh »

One good thing about living in the UK is the BBC. Just watched a very moving programme about Sam Cooke. A truly great artist. I was watching in case there was a shot of Sam at the Rickenbacker factory with a 390. But alas no. But still it got me thinking if JH had any memories of the great man?

Cooke was one of the all-time greats. His version of, "It's Been A Long Time Comin'" is beyond words.

I've been singing "Bring it on home" for a long time.

I consider myself lucky to have played the very guitar that is pictured in the famous Sam Cooke shot. I was awestruck.

"You Send Me" always reminds me of some, er,...intimate moments with an ex-girlfriend of mine whom I dated for many years in my youth.

Everything from "Chain Gang" to "Everybody Loves to Cha Cha Cha."

I don't know much about history, but I do know Sam a true genius.

That's It, I Quit, I'm Movin' On !!!!
