I am sitting in my hotel room right now....in a semi-daze....contemplating what has just happenend the last couple of days....I have met some great, great guys and held and played some of the greatest musical instruments to ever grace this earth...I am humbled by this experience.....you guys are fantastic!!

How many people get to play:
'60s 4000's and 4001s, 70s 4001s, Blackstars, Tuxedos, Shadows, 4004s, not one but FOUR 4005s, and a LEMMY??? ALL in ONE DAY?? You get my drift....

We are leaving for home around midnight...I am very tired, this is all I have to say right now about this whole thing, but I'll post more of my thoughts when my head is clearer, lol...

The flurry of basses was definately overwhelming. Expect to see some interesting photos posted over the next couple of days showing the variety of basses which were displayed. You can count on this event taking place next year. Who knows? Maybe something special can be planned for the 75th anniversary of Rickenbacker.

Kudos to the guys like Chris,Jeff, and Randy who put this together and/or secured the spot. Tony from Pickguardian, thanks goes to you as well for your surprise sponsorship. All here should try to give him some business over the coming year.

I liked all the basses I played, but my favorites had to be Jeff's 4005 and Ted's 4002. Both basses are just set up real well and sound terrific. All the basses there had something special to them. The was no typical 4003 or something there. Paul's Montezuma Brown had to be one of the most beautiful finishes I've ever seen. I could go on and on.....

I spent a lot of time with the 4005's. Jeff's is a dream play. Brian's LK is pretty impressive too. Jeff Scott is an excellent player and and all around great guy. All in all, it would be hard to assemble a nicer bunch of people. I have to say thanks to Peter for making this community possible. Thanks Peter!

We did several photo groupings including a 4000 - 4005 shot, decade shots and some model groupings. The pictures will follow shortly.

Please don't tell me God only recognizes baptists. If that is true I am so screwed!

Glad you all had a good time. Everyone get home safe!

All right, guys, I know you're holding out. I know you had a special guest you're not telling us about. Luckily someone sent me a pic:

And I found out that someone else was upset about this:

Jeff,
I think we had 31 basses and a a few guitars also! Paul Boyer photographed all of the basses for his upcoming book.

This was truly an overwhelming experience that made it hard to sleep at night with all the great poeple and instruments running through my head!

Here are some pics I did.
