McCartney & Ric with a Capo

Post by apollo11 »

Here is a cool shot from the Rubber Soul sessions, featuring McCartney with a Capo on his Ric, and playing with fingers. Great concentration on McCartney, Harrison & Martin.

Saw that shot a few years back, inspired me to use a capo on the 4001S when we do "Tomorrow Never Knows".

Yep, it's not something we do every show, for instance it doesn't go over very well at big corporate events...or wedding gigs Image
But we DID play it Saturday when we opened for Three Dog Night and it was very well received, big outdoor show on the lake.

Wierd, why did he use a capo? I've never seen anyone do that before on a bass.

The intro, before the bass/drums come in, is sampled, the rest of the weird bits are played real-time by our keyboard player. With our lead guitarist throwing in "backwards" stuff.

Audio clips here:

"TNK" isn't on there but there are a few interesting things, "I am the Walrus" for example. Also check out "My Generation" from a live radio broadcast.
