4002 Going on Ebay Tonight

Post by 80stingray »

Well everyone I just wanted to let you all know that because of financial reasons I'm forced to put my 4002 up for sale. It's got a VA serial number(January of 82). The neck is straight and action low. Plays incredibly well. The finish has some checking. The finish on the back of the neck had been removed and I planned on having it refinished but never got around to it. Just thought I'd let everyone know To keep their eyes open tonight.

I think because the finish is not on the back of the neck I'm going to start the auction at $1500 with no reserve and let it fly. I paid $2500, I think it will go for at least that amount.

How about a few pictures here ? You might just save your eBay fees and keep it in the forum.

Joseph, you just answered my prayers. I have been looking for a 4002 for it seems like ages.
Keep it in the forum, I'll take it right now for 3Gs.
Buy it before someone else does.

Wow!
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Bob, That is a gracious and very tempting offer. I tell you what. I'm going over my friends house tonight. I don't have a digital camera but he does. He is helping me list this and another bass on Ebay. I'll have him take some shots and post them here first and I'll hold off on the Ebay listing until everyones had a chance to see the pictures here first. I just might take you up on your offer.

Sorry to hear about that Joseph. It must hurt!

But, you are going to make someone here VERY happy. I love mine and can't recommend them highly enough.

I wish I could afford it, I loved playing Ted's 4002 at the confluence!

Are there going to be pictures posted? That would at least give those of us who can't afford (or find) one of these a bit of gratification.
