Sort of Rick related...The new AC-30 CC2
Yesterday I bought a new ac-30cc2x with the blue speakers, and I am very happy. It is THE AC-30 with practicality. Its perfect!!!The master volume feature is too cool!It is definitely not a reissue, but the sound is amazing and the features are incredible.I am not one for picking apart the cabinet, but I have noticed a few cosmetic differences. Most are minor. It has all the AC-30 sound and then some.I would highly recommend this amp to anyone looking for that sound with more practical features.
Has anyone else had the chance to check these out?

Every report I've read so far has been positively glowing regarding the tone -- and most of those were for the combos with the cheaper Wharfedale speakers as the combos with the blue speakers didn't hit stores right away (a few weeks after the Wharfedale combos).
I've seen a few quibbles on cosmetics, but everyone says the overall construction is first rate. I've also seen a few people grumble about the tremelo and reverb, but nothing major.
I have a feeling that Vox is going to have a hard time keeping up with demand on these things.

I'm not looking for an exact beatle amp,so it is perfect for me.Before this amp,I would have never bought a ac-30TBX because I thought it was a bare bones amp for an extremly high price.I can't spend that just for cosmetics. This amp sounds like an AC-30,but with better features. And it has built in reverb.
I am sad that building these in England is no longer a cost effective option, but the price will allow more people to get a great amp at a reasonable price.

I invested in a used VOX AC-15 a while back (from Ebay) with a blue speaker. Although it took a secondary investment to get it in proper working order (ugh), I'm now real happy with it.
My backup amp is a Roland JC-60 which sounds ok but the VOX AC sound just cant be beat.
For me and casual gigging around town, the AC-30 is just too monstrous in size and weight to be practical.

Hey all,
I have an AC30CC2 and I LOVE IT! It has the right combination of "bells and whistles" to make it a great gigging amp. Great tone, plenty of headroom and what a look! The only thing I don't like about it is the reverb. IMHO, it sucks, but that's just me. I'm used to my 68 Fender Pro Reverb...I guess I'm spoiled
! For an all-tube combo with great sound, it's well worth the $999. Just wear your weight-lifting belt, it's heavy!!
Regards,
AG

I would say Howard that $4125 for a mint 1963 AC30, that plays mint is an excellent price. Please send us some photos. By original, what type of Celestions are you referring to?

I didn't get too much of a look at the speakers, Peter. It was a bit awkward getting to the amp (it was in the window, in front of some other stuff). What I did see were blue 'Vox' labels on the large, dome-shaped magnets. I'll drop in again tomorrow night with my camera and see it they will accommodate me.
If it does play mint Peter, there's only one small problem. I can't!!!
BTW, they had five Ricks in stock two weeks ago - now only two! They've got another 14 on order but have no idea (of course) when they will be arriving. Looks like stocks of new Ricks might be drying up a few weeks before I'm ready to jump in at the deep end. Boo-hoo!!
At least they've still got the 4003 FG that I'm hoping to buy.
