I know it's easy for a talented tech. to custom make a new pickguard out of, say, tortoise shell pickguard stock, but does anyone have any information on where this nameplate came from? (Pictured: Dave Meros, Spock's Beard)
If you take a black plexi nameplate , and very carefully scape away the black to leave the lettering, then take a piece of acoustic guitar T-Shell guard stock , and cut that to follow the nameplate shape , drill the three holes for mounting......that gives you the T-Shell nameplate.
Just lay the T-Shell behind the nameplate before you screw it down.
I wanted to make a brass pickguard, but making a brass nameplate to match that still says "Rickenbacker" etc was far too daunting and possibly breaching copyright?
