Reunion
Reunion
Nice to see McGuinn, Crosby and Hillman mix it up onstage together every decade or so whether they need to or not. A time to mix, a time not to mix, I guess. I understand Rog was actually playing a Rick on this particular occasion, rather than the acoustic usually associated with his solo gigs.

Wow. Has it been almost 9 years since the Hall of Fame performance. Great to see them back together again. In a brief conversation (internet) several months ago with Hillman this opportunity did not seem to be in the offering. Let's hope that this sets the stage for "Reunion Recordings" as well. Oh to have been there.

As I understand it, the concert was on Tuesday August 8, 2000 at the Santa Monica Civic in Los Angeles.

Gentlemen,
Here is an mp3 of McGuinn, Crosby & Hillman performing "Turn!Turn!Turn!" on Tuesday night, August 8, 2000. It's approximately 4.8 megabytes and runs about 3:57 minutes. Plenty of 370/12RM jangle for old-timers.
An mp3 of the August 8 reunion performance of "Mr. Tambourine Man" is also said to be forthcoming.
Here are a couple of reunion webphotos, too, fwiw.

It was great to see them together again. There will be a concert honoring Crosby and his wife
in September. It's here in L.A. at the end of
the month. Performers include Graham Nash and guests to be announced. Sounds like the perfect time for a return flyte. By the way, does anyone knowwhere I can find a new copy of the '73 reunion
album on vinyl? I have a used record, and I would
like to upgrade if possible. I own a German cd of the album, but the mix is atrocious. Some songs are actually cut. The worst offense is on "See The Sky About To Rain"-one of my favorites. Thanks to the shoddy transfer, the beginning of the song is cut. It sounds like they used a tape of a tape. So if anyone can direct me to a new
or recent vinyl pressing, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

As I recall, Both died in 1991; I think Gene was in the spring, and Mike was later. It's been awhile since I last checked exactly the months they left us.Mike died from liver failure[no surprise; he was a heavy drinker] Gene, I've heard
a few different reports; "natural causes", heart attack.I'd also heard that Gene had been into heroin for a time.In any case, these things don't do a body good!!
