T-Shirt Rickenfaker?

Post by rickaddict »

I think the RIC police might have a few questions to ask this guy:

We don't consider these to be infringing. He doesn't claim it's a Rickenbacker brand T-shirt and he's simply using an image of a genuine product. Furthermore, he doesn't emphasize the direct logo aspect of the instrument, i.e. just a nameplate or -R- tailpiece, for instance.

It might be a bit parasitic but he's not doing anything that dilutes the brand name or jeopardizes the trademark, which are the only reasons we have to waste our time patrolling eBay.

Other than the misplaced strap button, what looks so "fake" about the image?

On the other hand, I abhor people who try to sell t-shirts for $30...

Well...the knobs look a little too close to each other, the horns don't look quite the right shape, and(as you mentioned) the misplaced strap button.

But we aren't looking at an actual photo of a guitar; we're looking at a photo of an image of a guitar that has been transferred to a peice of fabric...so maybe its just distorted.

Someone bought me one of those for my birthday. it's like a hard, plastic-like decal. I'm afraid to wear / wash it for fear of it melting.
