Very nice...Bergundy varies quite a bit on Rics from almost Jetglo looking to fairly indistguishable from Fireglo(in a picture at least), but that's my favourite shade...spot on!

Interesting. I have a December '77 Jetglo 4001 with serial number QL 5396. As for the Burgundy finish, it's identical to my July 80 4001.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Is this bass still for sale? I can see it with the above link, but does not show on a regular search...? very strange...

Bob:

If I do a search on "musical instruments" to "bass" to "rickenbacker" it shows up on my search.

David, thanks. I feel a bit silly now. I was looking on .co.uk and not on .com

All is now clear...

Bob:

That kind of stuff happens to me all of the time. I was kind of curious because I had that bass on my "watch list"...it's a beautiful bass. I'll be passing on it because I was able to find a halfway decent '73 a couple of days ago.

Hi David. I've actually put $800.00 on it at the moment. It will probably go for about 1K ?

Nice one on the new bass. What is it?

Check out the post that's currently running (also in the Bass section), "I Have a Chance to Buy a '73 4001", it explains the whole story and includes a picture. I'm thinking it should arrive by the end of next week.

Oh well, had to let that one get by me. I was prepared to go to just over 1K, but it went for $1225.00 in the end. Just not worth it with shipping to the UK...
