I know that there was a cabinet thread not too long ago but I haven't seen one on bass heads. I'm sorry if it was done before and I missed it.

Anyway....here is mine for starters......

Samson PowerBrite PB9 power conditioner/light
Sabine RT-1601 Rack Tuner
Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp
Shure ULXP4 wireless
Ashly FET-2000M (500x2 at 4 ohms)
....all in SKB rack cases.

This is the only bass head I own anymore, I use combos now. Sorry the bass channel isn't in the picture.

The amp itself is 12" x 3" x 8", 7 lbs. and 650 watts rms @ 4 Ohms!

Is that a real JTM45 like clapton used during the 60's? Those are worth big bucks aren't they?

Jeffrey...that little Woods looks gorgeous.

I mostly play mid sized rooms in various blues and roots lineups that are not overly loud. I run a simple GK400RB ( an older one) with a single fifteen and get the old school thump that I am after. It also works with my upright.

Ampeg V4BH vintage 2005. I heard a rumor and thought I better get one before they go offshore.

The V4BH will run at 100 Watts RMS into 4 or 8 ohms so I have a choice of either Bag End cabs or both depending on the gig.
The combination of the single twelve on top of the fifteen is creamy and punchy at the same time.

Think Clapton had a "Bluesbreaker" combo based on the JTM45 circuit-which was a Bassman 50 circuit design anyway.

It is not an original.

The Sovtek kinda sounds like a Bassman 50, only with less dynamics. Its fairly well built and extremely affordable.

But with the Traynors so affordable, why get something that has been discontinued.

The 20 watt HIWATT is a disappointment.

My Classic 400 (8 x 6550WE Sovteks + 6 Preamp tubes).

443 watts RMS at 4 or 8 ohms with 2 switchable channels (Clean/Crunch)

Mine is a V-4BH from the first year of the reissue, 1996. I am currently running 4 5881's for the power tubes. I love this amp. Not real loud compared to an SVT, but very sweet tone. Plenty loud if you stand in front of it for 4 sets, like I do. It has an XLR direct out on the back that is handy for running to the PA for more volume. My cabinets are Ampeg 4x10 and 1x15.
