impressive, even if you're not into the neo-classical guitar.
yngwie better eat this kid soon!

NOT FAIR!! The guitar is bigger than him! Seeing people like that make me realize how much I suck. I'd rather see a bass player be able to to that! That would be more impressive. I would be even more impressed if he wrote that.

I watched (and heard) an 11 year old girl absolutely nail some AC/DC stuff (Highway to Hell and Thunderstruck are two that I definitely remember) in a music store about a month ago.
She was playing a Rick 620 JG (which I think her dad ended up buying to replace her Epi SG). I'd just had the intonation on the 660/12 sorted out so I offered her a play. Took only a minute or so and she was doing "Wish You Were Here"!! How would an 11 year old know that one?
I walked out in tears, went home and had two thirds of a bottle of Jim Beam to assist in getting over it (I did!).
This kid has already done at least one guest gig at a venue in AC/DC lane in Melbourne!!
Starting to cry again........

I'm reminded of this:
"You know... you know when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea: have a point. It makes it so much more interesting for the listener!"
It's an awesome display of digital dexterity, with zero musical content. I hope that whoever is coaching this kid manages to channel the obvious talent into something greater than party tricks.
Not that I can do anything remotely resembling this.....

Reminds me of the 12 year old boy on t.v. the other week...forgot his name already...but he is being touted as the next Beethoven, etc....he's composed I don't know how many songs already...GOOD songs, classical stuff....but seems all of the "names" know of him.....whatever....
Anybody else see this FEEEnom I'm talking about??

I must agree with David and Howard! I met a guy that everyone was talking about at how good he was at playing Metallica, AC/DC and Led Zep! And he was good alright to play the riffs... alone! As soon as we came in to gig with him he was screwed! The guy couldn't keep the tempo, did not have a clue of what was a chord and definitely had no feelings of a song. He would not be able to know when to come in or where to stop! I just couldn't believe it since he seemed full of talent!
That just showed me that you can practice from TAB's in magazines and be good at it, but it still doesn't give you the feel of music!

This little lad started playing Violin at age 3, got bored and took up guitar cause mom's boyfriend liked Slayer and Metalica. This kid plays every scale from panatonic to mezofonic, but at age 8, if that's his true age, he may not be able to play a complete song. It takes the brain years to catch up with the fingers. I'm still impressed with his dexterity and the way he wipes the snot off his nose with his forearm when he finishes his opus # 1.
