Bending an Accent arm

I put an Accent vibrato on my 330 a couple of days ago. I gigged it last night & it seems to hold tuning well enough for further trials.
The arm clears the toggle switch by just a millimetre or two though, so the arm needs bending out. Can I just put it in a vice & pull on it, or will that snap it?

No, it shouldn't snap it. I've bent the accent arm on my 325V63 all kinds of ways, I do it with all my trem arms. (Except a Bigsby of course) The only thing that will happen is that the chrome plating will flake off a bit. It did on mine, but I didn't really mind. I tried heating it up before I bent it, to keep that from happening, but it did anyway.

High gains on a 24 fret model. Can't say that I'm surprised Tony.

Thanks for the weather report according to Rickenbacker Tony. This photo has all the beauty of an early morning sunrise. A subdued red on the horizon and the intense sun beginning to make itself known. The controls facing east with a windy noreaster blend knob.

Well spotted Peter. It is my 1980 330 with 24 frets & hi-gains, but with the small headstock. When ever I photograph one of my gtrs, I am normally quite fastidious about the way the knobs are facing, but this is my normal gig set up for this gtr. It has a cap fitted, so I use the blend as a master tone.

The fireglo & grain is lovely, but the gtr itself is a little battered, with plenty of chipped off finish. I really love this gtr though & am using it more & more live.
