Pictures of checkerboard binding

Does anyone here have a good picture of a 4001 with checkerboard binding ? I'd like to get a good look at some to show the luthier that's going to refinish and rebind mine.

Mike Parks has a beautiful one in his sold list. It's jetglo, I think it's a 1972 model. It's a closeup shot.

The application changed a bit over time. The simplest way was to put the CB against the wood then cover it with plain white binding. In the 60's there were more layers. My '63 has a thin black layer against the wood then the CB then white. My 4002 has a similar combination but with black on the outside. I will post some pics as soon as I can get to my photo collection. I am changing computers and have not transfered them over yet.

That '68 is just gorgeous. I really like the finish on the fretboard too. Is that aging, or is that how it was new ?

Sorry, off topic, but who in the states says "moida" and "soitainly"? Is it an accent from certain states, or what? Doesn't our friend the Rickenbacker playing John Fogerty sing like that ("Boinin'" for burning, and I "hoid" it through the grape wine)? Someone enlighten a poor european!

The stooges are the only people I've heard say those words like that. I used to think it was because they all were Jewish but I was wrong. I have no idea why they say it like that but it sure is funny as hell!
