Help with serial #

I am about to purchase a 4001v63mg, the only numbers the owner has given me is 6906.Can anyone help me date this bass?Any help would be appreciated.

This is probably the second part of the serial number. The first part is on the other end of the jackplate. Ask the owner to double check, then it will be easy to date this bass in an accurate way.
