I like a Boddys, especially in the summertime with a little lemonade top on it. Very refreshing!
Got to get the drinking head back on for the summer stint back in the U.K. Many long hours watching cricket and the like...
The American beers have made me a bit of a lightweight over the years. As my uncle used to say "Drinking beer here is like making love in a canoe...It's the nearest f***ing thing to water!"

Gentlemen, please forgive my eavesdropping, but English beer is one of my favorite subjects, one which I wish I knew more about. If only I had more homework! I'll be over shortly for twelve days in Oxford, York, and Devon; any suggestions for good beer would be appreciated.
My Devon friend is a real Old Speckled Hen nut; over the years he's been kind enough to send me whatever OSH promotional stuff he comes across. I would guess that I'm the only person in central Illinois who has OSH ashtrays, cuff links, hat, apron, glasses, and assorted pins.
I've heard Wints' joke, but when I heard it it went "What do Coors Light and sex in a canoe have in common? They're both f***ing close to water."

If you get to Devon Lindsay, give me a ring (email me for my no.) & come down to the Ship Inn, overlooking the back beach in Teignmouth & I'll buy you a nice pint of Otter ale or two......lovely!
I'm actually drinking a bottle of OSH as I write this post!

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
Tony, thanks, I'd love to. I will be in Shute, Devon for four days, we'll see how things unfold. I'll e-mail off Forum for your number. Cool!
Howard, believe it or not, I have a bottle of Hahn's in my basement as we speak. I also have wine from the Hahn winery in California; both the beer and wine make for some great after dinner fabrications on my part, but the sad reality is that I come from the mundane midwestern branch of the family, not the international purveyor of fine beverages branch. Still, it would be worth a trip down just to be sure...

Here are the details...
The sponsor has commited to an event on a Sunday in late Sept/early Oct. The venue will be in Birmingham, very easy to get to/find, secure, plenty of parking with a pay bar & a free buffet. The sponsor wishes to set the date & plan the event before they are named, as they are keen to make this a professionally set up event. The date will be set in plenty of time.
How does this sound to you all....

Sounds good to me too, I will be there as long as it doesn't clash with other commitments.
