Post by ozover50 »

Hi All.

Can anyone tell me on which track(s) on John Fogerty's "Premonition" CD/DVD does he play a Rick? Can you also tell me what model?

Thanks & cheers

He uses a 350 on "Suzie Q".

yeah, that's the only track he uses it is Suzie Q....on the dvd anyway. Disappointing. He has the most recognizable and amazing voice of anyone from that era though.....he's awesome!!!!

I have vague recollections of a picture of him playing a Rick with an f-hole but can't be sure. If it's not a 350, any idea what it is?

I agree with you on the voice, Scott. It's really solid on the CD.

I have the PBS concert special on tape; when I get a chance, I'll see if I can run through it and see what Rics are used.

Howard,
I just dug out the Premonition DVD and it looks like a 1997 (not year, model number) 3 pickup version with a Bigsby. Also, he plays it on "Suzie Q" and "I Put A Spell On You". I haven't watched the whole dvd but his rhythm guitarist uses a 360V64/12 on a LOT of the songs.

Thanks for bringing this up because I have not watched this dvd in a long time and I forgot how great JF is. On another note, the bass player played an Epiphone "Jack Cassidy" model on a good number of songs which I always wondered how they sounded...pretty impressive for a fairly inexpensive bass.

I would love to see a CCR reunion, the others have been touring for years calling themselves Creedence Clearwater Revisited...pretty lame. Probably past the point of mending old wounds at this point. It's a shame.

Fantastic, Scott. I had a sneaking suspicion that it was a 1997 in the picture I saw (fairly sure Peter McC posted it). I also wondered whether "I Put A Spell On You" featured it after listening to "Suzie Q" again. Now that I know the rhythm guy uses a 360V64/12, I'm going to have another good listen!!

Wish I could get the freakin' DVD here! Only ever see NTSC versions on eBay and everywhere I look here I get the same answer: 'Out of Production' - dang blast!!

Interesting to hear about the bass, too. I've never really been able to differentiate between basses based on the sound - probably because I don't play bass.

BUT I WILL WHEN I I GET MY 4003FG!!

Howard - get a new telly! Most TV's under that age of 5-6years play NTSC - I get most of my "deev's" from the US I'd guess half of mine are NTSC

Cheers!

You're assuming my DVD player handles formats other than PAL, Andrew.

Aitch (or if you went to school in rural Tasmania as I did, 'Haitch';-)

No offense was intended (and I hope none taken)

I jumped both feet into DVDs 6 years ago when I realised it would be a great concert video medium - I'm a huge Live album fan, and my first and still current player handles them.

I remember actually changing TV's at the time for the same excuse (Women do not understand that the main aims in life are increasing guitar collections, and TV size)

I think it's a standard feature on most nowadays - even the $59 K-Mart variety

None taken at all, Andrew. My shopping list includes a new DVD and home theatre system (I'll check the telly - it's 1997 vintage).

I'm a huge fan of concert DVDs also. Could be an interesting thread in 'The Others' topic: 'Your favourite concert DVDs'.
