Well here's a trick I've seen done. Borrow a Gold T.R. cover and take it to a Laser Copier. Have a copy made, cut it out with a razor knife and place it under a clear .125 piece of acrylic that has been cut and drilled to Rick size. Place it on your instrument until your find the real thing. From the 1st row you can't tell the difference. This works with white and black copies also. Don't get the idea that I'm encouraging anyony to make these and sell them, they will look OK from a distance that's all.

Gary I checked the Yahoo site and it's OK, but using MSN or Google it comes up as a porno site. I have lots of virus and firewall protection. Kinda strange.

No I have no intention of selling any. I just wanna make my Rickenbacker guitar look good. If I had known gold guards were and option I would have gotten them to begin with

Gold guards are not a factory option.

Well I wonder where all of these people are getting them from and the TRC's too then? But at least I don't feel so bad for not ordering the option then.

To take the photocopy/scan idea one (logical) step further, scan/photocopy the logo onto a transperancy, paint behind it gold, clear gloss in the front, 1/8" acrylic over it, voila! If you're careful, it should work a treat
