Well not a vintage one but still pretty cool don't you think?I just couldn't resist bidding on this one.Did I pay too much?Do you think I will be sorry when the C64s come out?

nice.... can you describe the sound difference between toasters and hi-gains? I guess "more jangle" are the words most commonly used. Do you think the toasters on a 325 sound different than on another Ric like a 360?

kent, the '98 has the higher wound (hotter, in the 12K ohm range) PUs. The newer version scatterwounds, starting in 2000, are wound to 7.4K ohms to replicate a 60s toaster. The output is weaker, so you have to turn your amp up more, but it's brighter and clearer. There are some great threads (recent) on the different toasters. If you read them you will learn a lot.
It's really up to you on what sounds the best. I personlly like the scatterwounds for the particular sound I want, while others like the sound of the hotter PUs for their application.
