There is no mention of the "handle" in the auction itself but the first bidder question asks about it. The seller explains that by pressing the "handle" the mute is raised to the strings. He claims it to be an original part but assures us it can be removed. He also says that he has never seen one on another Rick. I wonder why that is. Image

I was joking when I said it was a great way to raise the mute, I thought it was cosmetic and don't see how it could really raise the mute as there are screws on both sides you have to turn, you wouldn't get any tension unless he's really cooked up some strange way to keep it pressed against the strings.

It would only raise one side and would probably eventually break the casting.
