I actually placed the bid as a joke... "hahaha! a Hammond for ten bucks!" Seems it might not be a joke... cool!

That would be a cool thing to have in the house indeed!! Beats my piddly little Yamaha hands down Image

I wouldn't be too keen on the prospect of paying freight to Australia, so I'll leave it to you......

Good luck!!

My wife's the key player... I hammer on them to make noise. She's a church organist aside from playing guitar and singing... she actually has a clue what to do with all those funny looking black and white things...

If I do somehow end up winning it, picking it up won't be too bad. The ride's a bit of a hike but not horrible, and my mother-in-law owns two box trucks (mail contract).

Funny, we also have a little Yamaha!

Do you know if it's got an inbuilt Leslie? Those things are awesome! If it has, put a beer or two in the fridge - I'll be right over!!

Light beer or dark?

You can just about imagine my approximate excitement level...

Actually, Bob, I just had another look at it - too small for an inbuilt, but it may have a synthesized one (say that after a few drinks!!).

If not, I'm sure it would have an output for one.

I looked it up on a Hammond history site... it does have one in there. It looks to be about the same size as the one my wife plays and that one does too. That organ sounds incredible... especially with the extension cab on!

As long as it's full strength, Bob. I'm not going half way around the world for insipid watered-down beer!!

Isn't American beer only mid strength compared to a Vic or a Melbourne anyway? I think it's around 3.5%.

Sadly, it was not to be. All the best to the guy who outbid me at 4 a.m.

That was sarcasm. I wanted that organ. I guess i should have stayed up!

Howard- I still owe you a beer!

I can't believe it went for $41, Bob!! Wonder if he used auto bid. Pity you didn't win - I was looking forward to trying out some Spencer Davis and Procol Harum stuff!

You don't owe me anything, Bob. However, I'd be honoured to partake of a few (or more) with you and hopefully many more forum members when I'm over there next year. Image

There are lots of organs on eBay--nobody wants them anymore because they're bulky, dust-collecting, out-of-style, and grandpa died.

Dozens are available at bargain prices. So, don't feel too bad, Bob.

I recently picked up two nice, rare combo organs in a package deal for about $450.00, including shipping. They're not parlor furniture, but they are portable! And they're vintage.

The parlor furniture ones are unbelievable value!.
