Plastic Schaller Tuning Pegs?
The tuning pegs on my 1991 FG 345 are made of a translucent, pearl-colored plastic. Were these factory-issue, or more likely installed later? I've seen Schaller tuners with these kinds of pegs before, but never on a Ric. Thanks

You can buy those buttons and Ebony ones at Stewart MacDonald. That is to say without replacing the whole tuner. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Knobs/Tuner ... Knobs.html

Man, you guys are quick! I'm away for a day and all my questions are answered...
It's interesting that someone might have been trying to approximate a 60s aesthetic. If I can borrow someone's digital camera in the next couple of days, I'll let you check it out. IMHO it looks quite nice and not out place at all, but I'll let you guys decide if I should switch them out after I post some pictures...
Regarding montezuma brown, it seems that anything that is less contrasty than pure white is very complimentary. These tuners would be interesting in conjunction w/ pearl essence guards, which I recently saw (the name of the company that produces them escapes me at this moment...)
