Hello Mark,
There are questions in a sub-heading in this forum under "Glen Lamberts' Rickenbacker Vintage 325 Models" that we were hoping you might look at and give your qualified opinion, which has to do with routing a 2:00 wide f-hole into a relatively new reissue 325. If you cannot go there and answer, here are his three concerns although he felt it was a desirable alteration, and I quote:
"1. Have there been any internal structural changes on late model 325/350's in the area where the proposed sound hole will be cut? eg. extra cross bracing?
2. Is it likely to alter the tension pattern on the top, perhaps shifting the neck set?
3. Could it be done in such a way that a blended in touchup of the newly exposed edge could be performed? Preventing the need for a complete refinish?"
It was hoped you would visit his discussion and lend your expertise there, but I have also posted a condensed version here for your ideas, opinions, and criticisms.
Thanks,
Glen Hobart

Thank you very, very much, Mark. You certainly know your art. The only question I still have is would you take on such a project, because I think I would only have confidence in you, and if so, how much would you charge, and how long would it take?
I don't have the 325 yet, but have access to getting a new reissue.
