From my FAQs on the Eggmen sight:
"Can I play your bass"?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. NO.
I've told the story of how I started playing "that way" here before but since you asked...
Senior year of high school, 1976. My best friend gets a guitar and amp for Christmas, we decide to start a band, I'll play bass 'cause "it's easier". I find out that a church a few blocks away from my home has a Fender Jazz bass and Fender Bassman amp. I start sneaking out of my bedroom window around midnight, walking to the church, crawl in a back window, and play the righty bass upside-down. About 4AM I sneak back into my bedroom and get a couple hours sleep before school. Did that a few nights a week for about 4 months till I saved up enuff $$ for my first bass by washing dishes at a restaurant after school. It was a righty EB-O copy and I was already used to playing a righty upside-down so...
Since then when I buy a lefty bass/guitar I have to swap the strings/nut around.
