Frode: I have not noted this practice before and am glad you contacted RIC for the official word. I wonder how many instruments have been produced like this.

Frode, if it is not too much to ask, could you send along some closeups of the binding so that we could have a closer look.

You have just illustrated the importance of Rickenbacker enthusiasts keeping in close contact with the factory. Long may this relationship continue.

Yeah I never knew that either, that would have irritated me highly. I would like to hear that corroborated actually as it doesn't sound like a Ric practice to me.

Frode wrote to me and that's what I told him- would that be sufficient corroboration?

But it still doesn't say anything about this particular bass.

It didn't happen for any great length of time and I wasn't pleased to see when this had been done.

Frode: He means that your Rickenbacker is genuine. It seems it was a usual practice, for a time, to spray over the white binding when there was a request for black binding.

Frode: Corroboration means "bekreftelse" (confirmation) in norwegian. I don't think Bob meant to sound like he didn't trust you!

Ok, takk Lars. I used this ric for the first time last night at Karmøygeddon metal festival as Geezer in a Black Sabbath tribute. Sounded great.

It wasn't Frode that I didn't trust, if I had known that he had talked to the man himself I wouldn't have said that. I usually trust the people that answer at Rickenbacker but that just didn't sound right to me.

Yes, corraboration means that you get a second opinion, or confirmation from another person. I'm in the medical field and it's very common where I come from.
