Please educate me- Archtop and fancy binding Rics

Post by gjg59 »

Please forgive my ignorance. The archtop or at least not flat Rics I see with the checkered bindings look very cool. My Ric knowledge is limited to the current catalog stuff. John Kaye from Steppin Wolf was playing a black Ric that looked arched. Thank you!

They are very cool, Gerry -but not so much arched as they are carved. Have a look:

Sort of the flagship of the Ric line.

Hi Gerry. It's a 381. It is not actually arched but has a 'German carve'. No doubt pics will follow....
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
