Are you a collector, player, or both ???

I'm guilty of both. I enjoy looking at them just as much as playing them. Rickenbacker is the ONLY one that I would be perfectly happy just to look at. Any other namebrand I'd have to be playing, or else it wouldn't be hanging around for long. Ric 300 series guitars, and 4000 series basses, are works of art in every sense of the phrase-- at least to me. Beautiful to listen to; beautiful to look at; a pleasure to hold and play.

It's both for me. If I'm not holding one while listening to music,I'll have it on a stand in front of me so I can just sit and stare at it. One of my RIC's is an April 1968 model 4000 that I "rescued" from a guy for $200 about 20 years ago. He had put an active p-style pickup in it which meant he routed the cavity to fit the battery in. Luckily, the vintage horseshoe pickup I put in it just covers the hole. It is now a work of art once again and a pleasure to play.

650A, 660, 660/12, 380L (desired - just to complete the wide-neck collection, you know. But then there's a Desert Glo 330 hanging on the wall in my local GC which is just so pretty, and a 360 of any colour is about the most attractive guitar on the planet. I admit it - I've got RAS, not GAS!)

I'm both - although my wife would rather me just be a player - How Many Guitar's Do You Need Anyway? One can never have too many guitars! I love playing my Ricks or can just sit around with my buddy, have a beer, listen to music and admire them, which leads me right into playing them again.
