I'll see if I can dig up some pics of my old '82. Daniel Mayfield owns it now, an '82 AzureGlo "S" model with Ric-O-Sound.

I have an 81 4003 and had two 84 4003's, but don't have pictures, the 81 is Burgandy with white trim. The basses changed in September of 1984 from old style truss rods to new style and they all have two piece pickguards.

The reason why I want to see other 84´s, is that I found out that Rickenbacker actually painted over bindings on some ricks at this time. So I would like to see others with same finish.

You would only see black painted over white not the other way around.

I've never seen paint over binding, what's the point of putting the binding on then? I think you might have a refin on your hands...

See my other Thread "Painted Trim". They did paint the binding for a short while when black binding was requested. I do not think mine is a refinish. I tought so in the begginning, but after some research I got my answers.
