Well, so much for my idea....how do you remove a Sharpie signature from a pickguard?

I think that I've owned at least one of each Ltd. Ed. except for a Glenn Frey and a Lemmy. And I wouldn't mind having either one of them.

Maybe this would be a good thread to ask - Any opinions on what the rarest/most desirable Signature model is?

From what i've experienced, it's probably between the 350SH, the 370/12RM, and the 4004LK.

"How do you remove a Sharpie signature from a pickguard?" You don't. It's permanent.

Why would you sign your pickguard Sharpie anyway? My Dad used to call me Sonny cause I was a bright kid.

You can get the black part of the Sharpie ink off. But the purple penetrates the acrylic. Replace the if you're tired of the look and keep the signed one in a padded mailing envelope.

Replace the guard, that is...

Paul, can you tell me more about Sharpie ink?

Someone used a black permanent marker on my favorite whiteboard. I wrote over the markings with another marker pen and then erased. Only the black came off (as you say) leaving a purple base that resists removal even after many swipes although it does appear to be dimming slowly. But still, the purple is visible after many months.

What chemical could be used to remove the purple? Or if, as you say, it penetrates the acrylic, does that mean another chemical can't pull it out?
