Now or Then

Post by edcal »

Is it me or are the Searchers touring more now or in the 60's in their heyday. I would expect the venues are smaller but as you look on their schedule on the website, the months seem to be pretty full. More power to 'em. Long live the Searchers!

I suspect your are right Ed. In the old days they had the pressure of recording to worry about as well, something that is not on the horizon for them now, at least not that I am aware of.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

They are certainly one of the busiest bands on the oldies circuit but in truth since the late sixties they have been on one eternal tour. In the seventies they were known to play two venues in one night when the cabaret clubs were in their heyday. I am convinced John McNally takes the view that it motivates him to keep in trim and fit, the schedule they sometimes undertake is unbelievable, playing venues in Norway one night and the next night Leeds in England, mext night Germany.
