Honestly Nate, what album is as good as Wild Life? I think that answer is obvious. lol. Back to the Egg was another album with loads of potential, but they just didn't pull it off. I read that Paul knew that Chris Thomas didn't like what was happening and I think that may have led to the end result. I think Paul was tiring of the "Wings" experiment. I also think the pressure of putting an album out every year wore him down. I think that when he takes a few years between albums they are generally better.
As for Paul being able to get any keyboard player he wanted...of course he could. Look at Wix! He just wanted Linda with him. I don't think that was too much for us to accept.

Sorry Bill. I got your sarcasm. I was just making a blanket statement. I wasn't directing it at you. What I think is funny is that he had several up and coming musicians in that band and most of them chose to leave at some point. For some reason or another. I just find it ironic that even they chose to leave the Beatle. Hmmm. I wonder if Linda would have left if she wasn't married to the guy. Wait scratch that. No reason to pursue that question.

Wait Kent...I said scratch that question. lol. Wild Praire (which I still haven't heard) would have come out years earlier.

I actually like "Wildlife". The "Wildlife" song pisses me off but I like most of the rest... "Mumbo" on the other hand... what the hell is he sayin?
I seem to like songs oters hate and I hate songs other like. Mostly "hits". I don't like "My Love". I think the "woh woh woh woh" part was a lack of lyrics and it is overplayed on oldies radio. I hate "Jet". That song is just ****** IMHO.
But I do like other, more obsucre songs: "Figure Of Eight", "I'm Carrying" (as was mentioned before), "Girlfriend", "Name and Address" and "Momma's Little Girl. I know alot from London Town, but I like that album.

Girlfriend is a very good song. It sucks that MJ covered it. Figure of Ei8ht, especially the single version is a good song. London Town had great melodies as I said earlier. And as I said earlier, Tug of War always sounded to be like a more polished London Town. Maybe that was George Martin's influence.

Mosta the guys from Free were available as they broke up for the first time in... late 71? Simon Kirke and Paul Kossoff and John 'Rabbit' Bundrick went on to record an album together, so you've got your bass (Paul M) guitar (Paul K) keys (Rabbit) and drums (Simon) covered... I bet those guys woulda jumped at the chance to work with Paul!
Although Kossoff mighta been a little too hard for McCartney...
It's all purely speculative at this point, though!
