Got my first two Rics from a store. Traded my 330 for my 650 from POTR. I must admit that I was nervous about that since it was the first time for me to get a guitar on-line! And I did it because of the guys from the forum after asking a whole lot of questions about the guitar I wanted to get and the store I was getting it from! Try to find a 650 Sierra in a local store is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!
But I was extremely satisfied of my experience and my guitar.
And last april, I ordered my 4003 from POTR with no hesitation and I'm still a satisfied customer! Image

I have wondered why the Model 480 did not come equipped with humbuckers? Or are there a few models out there with humbuckers? I have never seen any.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Only the 481 had the big ole humbuckers as far as I know.

I got my first Rickenbacker when my drummer at the time, who worked at a local music shop, called and told me they just got a Rick 12 string as a trade-in. My second I got from ebay, and my third through this forum.

My 2 were from Elderly and POTR. NO problems.

The hardest part for me, with regard to getting a new Rickenbacker is the waiting while it is shipped in from places far and wide.

I don't know what emotion wins out, the excitement on the horizon or the worry of wondering what the perils may be of its journey, freezing cold in the winter or the scorching heat of the summer.

Then there is the online tracking system in which your guitar moves 500 miles in small increments with frequent listings and then no postings for many days.

Let me throw my 2 cents into the ring here. I have purchased "on-line" from a very reputable firm in Kansas and make the bulk of my purchases from my dealer in San Jose,CA. The on-Line purchases from this firm in Kansas were a pleasant experience with instruments set up as I specified..............However, if (and there have not been) any problems, back in the box and away it goes, the back & forth game. My San Jose dealer, if there is a problem, bring it back, if their luthiers cannot adjust, setup or fix, a replacement is made, no hastles no BS or otherwise (and they do online prices, sometimes the bit of tax is worth the peace of mind)
Hummmmmmmmmm,Gotta think about that one... OK, I'm done.....
