4000 Carcass
I have a line on a 4000 carcass that has the headstock snapped off, and no, the headstock is not still around. The nut is still there. My question is, what do you think of trying to make it into Steinberger looking thing. Get a bridge that tunes and use the Steinberger thing for the nut. I could buy the electronics for it and re-finish it! Sound like fun to me. I am guessing Jeff might have a thought or two.It would be extremely fun if I could make it into one of those Jeff special 5 string basses!
I'm going there tomorrow! I had a bad thing happen at church today. We warmed up but didn't take as long as the kid's were singing a Father's Day special and needed to rehearse. I decided to shut off my amp as it would be another 20-30 minutes before we start. When I got back up there, I turned on the amp(Eden Traveller)and the light she's on but nobody home. Maybe the tube went out. I looked to see if there was an internal fuse, but no. So, no bass at church today. I tried to plug into the keyboard amp but didn't hear anything so I wasn;t sure if it was the bass, the cable, amp,or speaker at the time. I didn'.The music really suffers when we are not on post!
Talk to Randy Wood for replacement rods. The last I heard, he was still making the old style rods.
