And good luck on calling them. When I had my problem last winter, I was put on hold (on weekday mornings) three days in a row, and the shortest time was 20 minutes. I spent a total of about 45 minutes on hold before things were resolved.
Hopefully their customer service has improved.
RE: balance: They used to have a policy (don't know if it's still in force) that if your balance was less than $10.00 and you closed your account, they got to keep the balance as "service charges". Add that up at the rate of a few hundred or maybe a thousand a day closing their accounts!

You don't have to call them in order to do it, click the "withdraw" link, and they give you several options, transfer to bank account, request a check, and a few others. Just click on "request a check" and it will start it into the system.
I have not had much success when contacting them by phone, either. Wanted to play "Long Distance Runaround" when on hold with them.

And just think about it, guys, there are thousands who do this every day. They take a week to two weeks to process your withdrawal, and they're making interest on thousands of persons' money in the meanwhile.
And they right now are not subject to the usual banking regulations. At least until one of the many group action lawsuits that have been filed finally hits the courts.
Paypal is a brilliant moneymaking idea. It started out small in Tulsa, OK, and when eBay saw the profits and the growth potential, they made Paypal an offer they couldn't refuse. Now they are a wholly-owned sub of eBay.

Well, I got the check from PayPal so that is settled. I gave Lawton a + feedback but did comment on his lack of communication for not returning my phone calls. Funny thing is, the phone calls were not about the ebay auction, just to talk Rickenbackers!
Here is my comment:
Item came damaged, but Lawton made good on it, however he does not communicate
Here is Lawton's reply:
Reply by tangleflash: Sideways negative not appreciated -- no other buyer has ever had a problem.
Jeez, it took me two weeks to be able to actually be able to play through the speaker cabinet he sold me, so what's his beef? It was supposed to work out of the box!
If Lawton didn't make a reply, poeple who read that would just figure that something went wrong in shipping and he corrected it in good faith, but instead he had to make it look worse than it is.

Not only that, I CHOSE to give him a POSITIVE feedback! I could have and probably should have given him a neutral or worse yet, a negative feedback. Instead, I did not want to damage his rating with ebay but the comment did reflect the reality of the transaction. So he wants to burn me for an honest comment, after he deceived me with misrepresenting the item he sold to me.
As another thread said:
"Would you buy an ________ from him?" Stay away from tangleflash auctions.
