Difference between a 4001v63 and 4001C64?

Post by desertgoldenboy »

Good day, gentlemen!

I joined this forum a couple of weeks ago when I bought my first Rick...a 2001 Desert Gold 4003, and I participate whenever I can. Everyone here has about 10,000% more Rick knowledge than I do, but I'm learning little by little and I thank you all for that.

Maybe I missed a thread somewhere but I wanted to know the differences between a 4001v63 and a 4001C64, other than the obvious reverse headstock, and what makes one more desirable than the other, as a player and as a collector's piece.

Any comments would be welcome. Thanks much!

PS: Where are the females in this forum anyhow?

Take the ratio of male to female guitarists, then the percentage of female guitarists that play a Ric, then the number of those who care/bother to post to a forum, and that's your answer.

Guess I was hoping for Susannah Hoffs in particular...

the difference between the 4001v63 and the 4001c64 ... both have a 4003 type neck ... ie ... modern truss rods ... both are replicas of 60's 4001s models ...

The horseshoe pickup is different ... the v63 pickup is hotter ... the c64 has a slimmer and more resonate neck ... and of course the headstock ... the v63 came in more colors ... the v63 is no longer made ...

Buy it before someone else does.

v63 is as nice a bass as Ric has ever made !!

Anyone interested in swapping a c64 for a v63, has to be Fireglo though !!!

Hi Jeff,
I have a v63, I'm considering a swap of it for a c64.

But I'd also take either the front right, or left as well.

Sorry, I got that backwards! You'll have to discuss the left and right hand Fireglo beauties with Chris Pappas! Image

I love that fireglo V63 that Jps has, it's gorgeous.

Dave tell your wife that's okay... but Anythingelse-dorker, we might be insulted. Image

I guess once a ricken-dorker always a rickendorker could be worse like a fen-dork.
